Looking for something really different? Tired of the same old games, the same old stuff it seems like is on almost every server? Well now is your chance to try something new! The Rough Frontier is a brand new server unlike anything else out there. The server has a dedicated I.P. and is themed on the 1800's time period.. Several towns are already built and a main city called Blaze is where you will first spawn in. The server runs mods as well as plugins, which makes for a VERY unique experience.
Starting off you'll need to find shelter,which could be a rented room at a hotel or even a small cabin rental for a day or so..Hunting animals such as bear, boar, deer and other creatures will give you furs and hides that you can craft your first clothing (armor) with, or you can sell the pelts to fur traders to earn some cash. Mining silver, copper, tin, sapphire, rubies and of course diamonds can make your life easier as well in the Frontier as you can either craft new tools with them, or exchange them for in game currency at an NPC banker.
There are saloons to get a drink at and play cards in, such as blackjack and poker. Of course the saloons need a steady supply of alcohol which needs to be brewed and cured by someone, so why not you? Brewing in The Rough Frontier is one of the most enjoyable processes there are as there are so many different types of alcohol that can be made, from wheat beer and whiskey, to sake and cider,
Farming takes on a whole new life in the Frontier with so many new crops like apple trees, rice, hops, grapes and even honey. Traditional farming is also a fair way to make money, or even raising cows, pigs or goats. Fishing can be done with a pole but also in the Frontier there are nets as well as fish traps you can place under water and come back later to harvest your catch. Shark teeth can be a decent source of income as well by selling them to one of the fur traders.
Don't get too comfortable though, while you are traveling to and fro throughout the Frontier because it can be a very dangerous place. Although there are lawmen to uphold the peace, there are bound to be bandits wanting an easy take. Who knows, maybe you are one of those bandits. As most towns are fully protected you won't need to worry about getting shot in the back, but the rest of the world, roadways and some towns have no protection at all, so it's a good idea to stay on the lookout. The server offers firearms of the time (1800's) and they are used not only to hunt game, but also to cause havoc.
